FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
