Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A young child was among those injured in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
